Protect Limited can help you to ensure that all aspects of your business are as accessible to people with disabilities as possible.

We can assist you by conducting a D.D.A. compliance survey, by creating policy documents and by providing suitable training for your staff.
Typical adjustments include:

+ Access ramps and lifts
+ Braille signs
+ Large print / audio leaflets
+ Improved staff training
The Disability Discrimination Act, 1995, and the Disability Discrimination Act, 2005, (together referred to as the D.D.A.) place duties on employers, on those providing goods, facilities or services to the public and on those selling, letting or managing premises. The Acts make it unlawful to discriminate against disabled people in certain circumstances.

The main requirements of the Acts are as follows:

+ To not treat disabled people less favourably, for a reason related to their disability
+ To make ‘reasonable adjustments’ to the way in which services are provided
+ To make ‘reasonable adjustments’ to the physical features of premises, where necessary

Employers may also need to make one or more of the following adjustments:

+ Adjusting the allocation of work and/or being flexible about working hours
+ Providing extra training and/or making instructions and manuals more accessible
+ Providing modified equipment, assistance and/or appropriate supervision
